All Star Success Story – Omar

Omar came to All Star Labor & Staffing – Portland in hopes of finding a more professional environment. He was working as a freight stocker at a big box appliance store and while it was a great job, he was looking to move up in the professional world. When he came to All Star he was instantly liked by supervisor Adam Stephens. “We knew Omar would be a great fit after just one meeting. We originally hired him to be an Staffing Coordinator here at All Star but he is such a great people person that he ended up doing a lot of administrative duties for the front desk, interacting with people on a regular basis,” said Stephens.

Before Adam had hired him internally, he was sent on one interview for an Administrative Assistant position at a large construction company. He was originally the runner up and did not get the position but when the person hired did not work out, Adam received a phone call right away because the hiring manager had regretted not hiring Omar to begin with.

While everyone at All Star was sad to see him go, we knew that Omar had dreams that surpassed our office. He is now working at the construction company as an Administrative Assistant and attending school at PCC working towards his associates degree in business management and IT.

“I want to thank All Star for all of the support I felt from the moment I walked through their door. I was presented with such great opportunities,” said Omar.

We know that Omar will go on to have a very bright future, we thank him for letting us be a part of his journey and we wish him well!
